Big Drama on Display at Family Theater Productions
February’s Prayer and Pasta featured a one act play, Brian and Joe, written by Steve Sherman and winner of the Davy Marlin Jones Respondent’s Choice Award given by the Kennedy Center National American College Theatre Festival.
In March Family Theater Productions will host another play called: THE FIRST ONE TO LOVE. It’s a one person show about Our Lady and was written by Holy Cross priest Father Harry Cronin, CSC. Father Harry says THE FIRST ONE TO LOVE takes a close look at the Incarnation, “To me Mary is all about the Incarnation and it’s all about Christ becoming a human being.” Father Harry says the solo drama is a genre he really loves.
Father Harry is a prolific playwright. He’s also written, Memoirs of Jesus, which won two Dramalogue Awards, and is currently collaborating with Brother Nick Perez, CSC, on The Jesus Monologues, which will be an 8-minute film for the internet.
The performance of THE FIRST ONE TO LOVE will take place at Family Theater Productions during Prayer and Pasta on March 21st. Prayer and Pasta is a monthly event that runs from 7PM – 10:30 PM. It’s hosted by Father Willy Raymond, CSC, National Director of Family Theater Productions. The night includes a Holy Hour of prayer followed by a pasta meal and a noteworthy program or film. Please join us to see this one woman show about Mary, starring Maria Vargo.
